Top 5 Tuesday (A Little Late): Who Influences me

I know I'm a little late on this, but I started and then stopped like 20 times and I was busy, ok? So give me a break! Anyway, this weeks Top 5 Tuesday is Who Influences Me. Wow.. this is deep! Hopefully I can come up with 5 good one's!

  1. My mom- My mom has always been a great role model for me and I look up to her a lot. I hope to be as good of a mom as she is to my kids someday.
  2. My dad- My dad and I haven't always been that close, but I look up to him a lot and really respect the way he works so hard to give us such a great life. When I look for a husband someday I hope he has qualities that my dad has.
  3. My god-mother/Aunt- My Aunt Kim has been always been someone I look up to a lot. While I may not see her or talk to her everday, she has always had a great influence in my life. She's a great person with a big heart and is always quick to give advice when I need it. She's a great role model and a great influence.
  4. My friends- I know this could be a good or bad thing, but my friends play a huge role in my life. They influence me both for the better and sometimes for worse, but hopefully mostly for the better.
  5. Various people who come into my life- I know this sounds weird, but at different times in my life, i've had different people influencing me. For instance, my basketball coach last year influenced me to start working out and lose weight (if only she would come to college with me!). It's people like this who are in my life at different times that make a big difference.

So I hope this was worth the wait... well not really but I wanted to do it anyway since it's such an important topic.

If you had a busy Tuesday like me, but still want to talk about who iunfluences you, head over to Supernanny Where Are You? and link up! It's not too late, right Dana?!

Top 5 Tuesday

Yay for the pretty new badge Krystyn made, I like it! So I know I've been absent here for almost a week, but I have good reassons! (kind of!), but i'll post on that later. Right now it's time for another edition of Top 5 Tuesday @ Dana's place! This weeks theme from Jen @ Momma Blogs Alot, is what you like most/least about where you currently live. So I can't decide whether to post about what I like most or what I like least, since I toyed with writing a post about the downs of living in the sorority house, but I think I'll go with what I like most, jsut to be positive!

  1. I love it in Missouri becasue the weather is so nice. I wish it would hurry up and get cold, but we have had a few days of cold weather already, and that never happens this early in Dallas!
  2. The best thing about living in the sorority house is there is always someone to talk to. When you're bored, just go down the hall and you will usually run into someone to talk to and stuff!
  3. I love that it will snow here. I love cold weather. I love ugg boots and big sweaters and comfy, warm, sweat pants. I'm so excited that there is a real winter here, because in Dallas we didn't get a real winter.
  4. I love living in the sorority house because it provides you with activities. I don't know what I would do for fun if I wasn't in a sorority!
  5. I just love being at college over all!
So, that's my Top 5 Tuesday for this week, if you want to play make sure you head over to Dana's place and link up!

Top 5 Tuesday

Wow this is a lot of linkage! It's gonna take me a long time to read everyone's posts...

Just a side message is anyone else getting double posts in google reader?!? Is it because of this follower thing on blogger? Just curious..
Anyway Dana @ Supernanny Where Are You is hosting another edition of Top 5 Tuesday, and this week its like Q & A style, and it's all about blogging!
The Questions: 1) How long have you been blogging?
A few months, I started at the beginning of the summer to chronicle the change into college! t 2) Date/link to your first blog post
This is my 1st post about why I blog!  3) What is the one driving force that actually made you create that blog account?
Well I've really always wanted to start a blog, and I would google random stuff and end up on blogs, and I was fascinated, I would spend hours reading them! Then I tried to start a blog last summer, but never actually posted on it and then I decided this summer it would be the perfect time to start blogging!  4) How did you come up with your blog name and what were other names you considered?
I don't really know. I mean obviously it's a song but its not really my favorite song or anything. I just wanted a name to sum up the place I'm at in my life, and what's more perfect than Not a Girl, Not Yet A Woman?! My other blog that I started last summer, but never wrote on was called Beautifully Broken, which is an Ashlee Simpson song. So I guess I like naming blogs after songs ?!  5) Post a link to your favorite blog post ever.
Oh my gosh, this is so hard!!! Hmm... I don't know a lot of the posts I really like are like really personal and sums up exactly what was on my mind at the time. Like this one and this post was supposed to be my best one if it came out the way I had it in my head, but I was having one of those days where words weren't flowing lol. According to Google Analytics, my dinner party post is the most popular, and then after that its mostly my guest posts, wow I feel cool... so I guess I'm gonna go with my words of wisdom post I wrote right before I left.
Ok, so now I have to go because I lied and said I wasn't going out tonight, but it's the 1st night of the Fraternity rushes & its supposed to be a ton of fun! So I must go shower now...
But don't forget to go over to Dana's site & link up if you wanna play!

Top 5 Tuesday

So once again I failed Dana at coming up with a topic! So hopefully next week I will be settled in and not so busy and I'll be able to come up with something in reasonable time! Anyway, she did a great job coming up with a topic, so I don't know why she even needs my help!

This weeks topic is Top 5 Movie Soundtracks. Love it!
  1. High School Musical/ HSM 2. Yes, I know. Way meant for people younger than me, but 1st of all Zac Efron is so hot, and the songs are just so catchy! I can't help it, I'm obsessed with this soundtrack! "soaring.. flying!" Oh... how I want to be Vanessa Hudgens!
  2. 27 Dresses- so really I'm just obsessed with the one part where they sing Benny & the Jetts, so I don't know if that really counts as liking the whole soundtrack but I love that part and it's music... so soundtrack, work with me!
  3. Freaky Friday- lol again more of a younger movie, but it definitely has a great soundtrack! Lindsay Lohan rocked it in that movie! Those were the days when she was normal... Anyway back to the point. It has a great soundtrack and it's one that my parents and I actually agree on! ha
  4. My Best Friend's Wedding- Again, I love the part where they burst into song (See here), but seriously I find myself singing along to every song in this movie! I love the song at the beginning (Wishing and Hopin.. and thinkin' and prayin'....). Even the part when Julia Roberts steals the bread truck and it's a really random song, I'm singing along! And the karaoke scene! Love it!
  5. Breakfast at Tiffany's- Moon River! Classic! Love it! So maybe it's not the whole soundtrack, but come on, I like the other songs too... are there other songs?! haha
Well... I hope you enjoyed! Now make your list and head over to Dana's place @ Supernanny Where Are You and link up! I'll come up with something good next week, Dana!

Top 5 Tuesday

It's that time again, everyone! It's time for Top 5 Tuesday with Dana @ Supernanny, Where Are You! This week Dana so generously allowed me to come up with the topic! I was so honored, and after a lot of thought... I decided we should make it Top 5 Reasons Why You (We) Love to Blog! So I hope you enjoy my topic, and thanks again to Dana for giving me the honor of choosing the topic! So here goes:

  1. I have a lot of feelings, and this is a way to express those feelings, and put them into words. It's very therapeutic.
  2. I love "meeting" new people. That's one of the best parts about this bloggy world- you meet new poeple, and you bond over your likes, dislikes, etc!
  3. Comments, duh! Comments are so fun, and people can be so nice. I love love it when new people come over, and leave comments like "I love your blog" or "You're so funny" <--- I never hear that in real life!
  4. The community aspect of it! I love that we are like our own bloggy community! We can rally when someone needs our support, like Heather, and we have our own bloggy parties, like Aud's Dinner parties! It's like being in an exclusive club!
  5. It's the easiest way to keep my family updated once I go to school, so I don't have to send out like 100 e-mails a day being like "this is what happened today... blah blah blah" lol
So, thats why I love blogging... why do you love it? Head over to Supernanny Where Are You? and tell us!

Top 5 Tuesday

Yay! It's time for another edition of Top 5 Tuesday over @ Dana's place..! Love this! This week's topic is Favorite places to shop!! I am a shop-a-holic, so this is perfect for me! Listen & Learn, people (or read whatever):

  1. Nordstrom's Junior Dept. (A.k.a. BP)- They have the cutest clothes and they are cheaper than the rest of the store (obviously). They can still be kind of pricey, but nothing crazy! I always go here first when I need a special occasion outfit that is not too fancy, but dressy. I also bought a ton of cute clothes here to start off my work wardrobe at the beginning of the summer!
  2. American Eagle- I know it's really typical like preppy girl stuff, and sometimes I hate it because so many other people have the same outfit. But there clothes are really cute and it's the only like "preppy store" that I can fit into.. I hate hollister & Abercrombie because their sizes are not realistic & it makes it so frustrating to shop there when everything is tiny.
  3. The Impeccable Pig- It's a local store as far as I know, and this is the only website I could find for them, and you can't even buy anything from it. It's a super cute store with lots of cute dresses and tops. It's pretty expensive (like up to $100 for a top or more for a dress), but it's so worth it. I'm in love with everything i've gotten from this store. I bought my graduation dress from here, and I bought a bunch of cute summer tops, and recently some more dresses to wear to work and during rush and stuff.
  4. Forever 21- This store I love because it's so afforable, and yet really, really cute! It can be overwhelming to shop here because it's packed with clothes, but if you look for the right stuff, you can usually find some really cute stuff!
  5. E-bay- Admit it. You know you love e-bay. They have great deals and actually have a lot of cute, expensive clothes for less. I've bought everything on e-bay from perfume to keychains to purses to clothes. I also use it to sell stuff I don't want anymore. It's great!
Well that concludes today's addition of Top 5 Tuesday! If you want to join (and you know you do) head over to Supernanny Where Are You and link up!

Top 5 Tuesday

Ok, so Supernanny Where are You (that blog title cracks me up!) is hosting Top 5 Tuesday. I actually saw this last week, and really wanted to participate, but I was at the beach and the internet was so slow that blogging was pretty much impossible... it was a miracle I got my WWWAT post up. Anyway, basically every Tuesday she posts a theme and we list our top 5 something. This week is Top 5 Favorite Movies of All Time. Ok, so without further ado, I present my top 5 favorite movies...

  1. The Notebook- How could you not love this movie?!?! Rachel McAdam's and Ryan Gosling were so cute and I was crushed when they broke up in real life. This is, in my opinion, the ultimate love story. I cry everytime I watch it. So, so good!!!
  2. Breakfast at Tiffany's- A classic. I love Audrey Hepburn and I love her style in this movie. It's a great romance story and a great story about finding yourself, which I think everyone struggles with sometimes. This movie always makes me cry at the end, when the cat is lost, oh gosh....
  3. How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days- By now, I think it's pretty obvious I love romantic comedies. I'm a huge Kate Hudson fan and I think she is amazing in this movie. Plus, I really want her job [in the movie], and it makes me so mad that she doesn't like it! ha This movie is just a classic romantic comedy, its funny, romantic and it's just great. What else can I say!
  4. When Harry Met Sally- Such a good movie! Ugh. It really makes you think about relationships between opposite sexes and it's a classic romantic comedy. It shows the struggles of being in a relationship and finding that one person. So good!!
  5. Father of the Bride pt. 2- This movie is another one that always makes me cry! It's such a far-fetched (in my opinion) story line (Mom and daughter pregnant at the same time), but it is hilarious! And in the end, when Steve Martin is holding both his baby and his grandchild, I just lose it! Even though I can't relate, I love the story and it's just so sweet!
Ok, well I guess that's my list... I revised it several times and there are still quite a few movies I would love to add, but I'm going to stick with that list. I will however, mention a few I left out: The runners up were Never Been Kissed, 27 Dresses (this scene makes the whole movie for me-- see video below), Sleepless in Seattle (A classic how could you not love that movie!). Anyway, you get the point... I could go on forever. This is what makes 27 Dresses such a good movie: (I couldn't resist posting it) Thanks to Supernanny Where Are You for hosting.
